The Russell Executive: Poor Man’s Aeron
July 11th, 2005

Over at the excellent Kevin Kelly’s Cool Tools, Finn Brunton has recommended the Russell Executive Mesh Chair as a budget-conscious alternative to the Aeron ergonomic chair by Herman Miller. This chair is apparently available for as little as US$230.00 new from discounters, as opposed to the Aeron, which costs roughly double that figure.

I’ve looked around myself, and I believe this chair is now AWOL.That’s a darned shame, because for a while they could be had for as little as US$99.00.
If anyone knows differently, please let us know, but I think at this point eBay/Craigslist may be the best way to go. You may even score an Aeron at a decent price that way.
Best luck!
